The Ark’s twenty first year represents an opportunity to look again at our founding principles, to reaffirm our vision and mission and to consider how best to achieve them over the next four years. Through all that change The Ark has been constant in making and sharing great art for children in the faith that art can transform our understanding and experience of the world. This is evidenced in primary school practice where there has been an increased emphasis on art across the whole curriculum. Research about the significance of early childhood development has also brought about changed emphasis in our education system and curriculum and in artistic practice for young children. We have welcomed many new citizens and, despite subsequent emigration, we have seen our young population grow such that recent Department of Education and Skills projections predict a peak of 574,000 children of primary school-going age by 2018, the highest since the founding of the state. Much has changed in Ireland for children, for the arts and for our society since our establishment in 1995. Our role is to create opportunities for children to love and discover art as a fundamental part of their childhood, no matter what their background or gender, and our reward is witnessing their boundless capacity for imagination, innovation and fun. That radical vision was informed by the principle that all children have the right to artistic and cultural participation just as they have a right to play. The Ark was born of a deeply-held belief in children’s right to art and culture as equal citizens within our society. The images that Sertensen and his team have taken are not released at this time, and he doesn’t plan to share them until the release of his documentary, which does not currently have a date. This document lays out our strategic objectives for the years 2017-2020, so that our audiences, partners and supporters can join us on the next phase of The Ark’s journey. This can only be done with the support of universities and the Turkish state.” Later in the interview, Sertensen admitted that “It’s a ship, but it’s too early to call it Noah’s Ark. They should the entire ship buried underground.” “These are the actual images of the Noah’s Ark,” Sertensen told the media. Sertensen has teamed up with Andrew Jones, a computer engineer and archaeologist, and John Larsen, a geophysicist, to create and interpret imaging from the location.Īnd everyone involved seems convinced that this is it, they have found Noah’s ark. However, there is a lot of real science behind this process.
It won’t happen, but it’s fun to think about. Some people have compared the search for Noah’s Ark to finding Big Foot or The Loch Ness Monster. Real Scientists Are Working On the Search for Noah’s Ark Now, Sertensen says that they have used 3D imaging on the location, and are in the processes of showing “proof” that the Ark is there in their next documentary, Noah’s Ark 2. Something big.Ĭem Sertensen released a documentary called Noah’s Ark in 2017 that put together over 20 years of research on the Ark and the Durupinar Site, all detailing what he believed – that the Ark was down there, waiting to be rediscovered. Several experts in geology and formation suggest that something could very well be buried. The reason that this is thought to be the site isn’t just because when you view the area from an aerial view it looks like a boat could be buried under the dirt. It is a large, strange formation on Mount Tendurek in eastern Turkey, about 3 kilometers north of the Iranian border. What would it mean, for the real Noah’s Ark to be found? The Durupinar Site, the Buried Lost Ark of Noahįor years, the site that many Christians believe contains Noah’s Ark has been called The Durupinar Site. Relic hunters traversing Turkish mountains believe that they have finally found the real location of where Noah’s Ark landed after the flood receded, and are convinced that 3D scans will pinpoint the true size and location of this boat. Proof has been found that Noah’s Ark actually existed… or did it?
